Michelin star chefs begin a new journey in the heart of the Fillmore—meet 7 Adams

After winning their first Michelin star and suddenly splitting from their San Francisco restaurant, a chef couple is back with a new fine-dining establishment.

David Fisher and Serena Chow Fisher, previously of Marlena in San Francisco, are opening 7 Adams at 1963 Sutter St. in San Francisco on Wednesday, Nov. 1. They teamed up with San Francisco’s Hi Neighbor Hospitality Group, known for Mama in Oakland and Trestle and the Vault in San Francisco, on the new restaurant.

7 Adams, named for the street Fisher grew up on in upstate New York, will serve a five-course tasting menu ($87) with a twist. It will include one large family-style course shared by the entire table, such as roasted black cod with side dishes like a creamy honeynut squash farro verde or grilled cabbage glazed in a fish sauce caramel. They hope it encourages a level of conviviality not always seen in fine dining.

“Somewhere along the line, fine dining loses a little bit of fun,” Fisher said. “We want to bring a different element.”
